LIBERAL LIBERALIS – Liberal Liberalis (2016)

Formed around 2011 in Kuching, Sarawak, Liberal Liberalis are a Malaysian hardcore punk band whose music combines the raw aggression of traditional hardcore with melodic guitar arrangements and metalpunk influences. Featuring Colt on bass and vocals, Hassan on lead guitar, Bolton Zymeth on second guitar and Ddek on drums, the band developed a sound distinguished by driving rhythms, biting guitar solos and politically charged lyrics. Their self-titled release, launched in October 2016 through Nervhous Records and Green Peace Distro, contains six tracks, including "Pukimak Najib", "Still Remains", "What We Want", "Unite We Are", "A Poem To Our System" and "Message To The King". Musically, the recording balances aggressive hardcore energy with melancholic melodies and expressive guitar work, while its lyrics confront political leadership, corruption, abuse of power, oppression and demands for freedom and justice. Rather than relying entirely on speed and aggression, Liberal Liberalis emphasise melodic structures and instrumental arrangements without compromising their underground punk identity. The release captures the socially conscious spirit of Malaysian DIY hardcore and represents an interesting contribution from Sarawak's independent punk scene.

This is a pre-owned cassette. Unless stated otherwise, the tape has **not been fully play-tested or professionally cleaned**. Visual inspection shows the cassette and tape to be in generally acceptable condition and it appears playable, but due to the age and nature of used cassettes, playback quality cannot be guaranteed.

If the exposed tape strip appears dusty or dirty, it may require manual cleaning before playback. Experienced cassette collectors will generally be familiar with the appropriate cleaning methods and handling precautions for older tapes.

The case, shell, labels and inserts may show normal signs of age, storage and previous ownership. Please refer to the product photos for the actual condition.
