Bury Tomorrow are a British metalcore band formed in Southampton in 2006. Their music is built around the contrast between Daniel Winter-Bates’ harsh vocals and large clean-sung choruses, supported by melodic guitar leads, heavy breakdowns and influences from melodic death metal.

1. Black Flame
Released in 2018, Black Flame was Bury Tomorrow’s fifth studio album and the first released through Music for Nations. Produced by Dan Weller, it gave the band a larger, more modern sound without removing the aggression at their core.
“No Less Violent” and “Adrenaline” open the album with immediate force before the title track brings together harsh verses, melodic guitars and one of Jason Cameron’s biggest choruses. “Knife of Gold,” “My Revenge,” “More Than Mortal” and “Stormbringer” maintain the balance between melody and mosh-ready heaviness.
Black Flame does not reinvent metalcore, but it shows Bury Tomorrow performing it with confidence, precision and a strong understanding of what makes a chorus memorable. A good starting point for listeners who prefer polished modern production.
2. The Union of Crowns
Released in 2012, The Union of Crowns was the album that established Bury Tomorrow as a serious force in British metalcore. It was also their first release through Nuclear Blast and the final album featuring founding lead guitarist Mehdi Vismara.
Built around themes of kings, crowns and conflict, the album combines melodic death metal-influenced guitar work with breakdowns and the vocal contrast between Daniel Winter-Bates and Jason Cameron.
“Lionheart,” “An Honourable Reign” and “Royal Blood” remain among the band’s defining early songs. “The Maiden,” “Knight Life,” “Kingdom” and “Sceptres” reinforce the album’s mixture of aggression and uplifting melody.
At 14 tracks, it is more expansive than Black Flame and retains a rawer early-2010s metalcore sound. For listeners wanting the classic Bury Tomorrow style, The Union of Crowns is the essential choice.
